Welcome to the FORMER HOME OF THE Eastlake High School Library Website! - Soon to be closed

On june 5th, 2020...

Sweetwater Union High School District will no longer have teacher-librarians at any of their 23 school sites. Five of those teacher-librarians will be laid off, including Mr. Angood, along with 190 other colleagues.

You can still change decision makers minds:

The following three board members have so far gone along with the district's plans for layoffs, including Board Member Tarantino, who represents the Eastlake area. Feel free to drop them an e-mail expressing your thoughts:

Feel free to drop e-mails to Acting Superintendent Dr. Moises Aguirre (Moises.Aguirre@sweetwaterschools.org) and Dr. Ana Maria Alvarez, Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning (ana.alvarez@sweetwaterschools.org)

“We have an obligation to support libraries. To use libraries, to encourage others to use libraries, to protest the closure of libraries. If you do not value libraries then you do not value information or culture or wisdom. You are silencing the voices of the past and you are damaging the future." -Neil Gaiman
